A case for the use of Person Centered Therapy for the treatment of PTSD, a Literary Review
To conduct and construct a review of published literature on a topic relevant to counselling and psychotherapy.
The marking criteria, with approximate word counts are set out below and consider each aspect of the assignment in process of the literature review and content of the report:
1. Introduction (30 marks) – a clear statement of the research question, introduction to topic and search strategy. The search strategy should include: – databases searched, key words used, number of articles found. Short discussion of how the 6-10 most appropriate were selected for the literature review. (500 -700 words approx.)
2. Critical review of literature (50 marks) – demonstrating awareness of the current state of knowledge in the chosen
subject area, an analysis and synthesis of the material evaluating the strengths and limitations of the research, and how the research fits into the wider counselling and psychotherapy context (1,000 -1,500 words approx.)
3. Conclusion (20 marks) – indicating the relevance of the articles for the research question (200 words approx.)
