Find an issue /problem that affects the health and safety of individuals.groups in our state. After explaining why this should be of concern to us as nurses, draw up your plans for dealing with this issue. Start with steps that you will need to take at the local level . Who will be the key players that you will need to influence?What grassroots efforts will you need to accomplish?Next, proceed to the state level and identify the steps you will need to take at this level for proposing your item as a bill . ( For the purpose of this assignment , steps no bill is to ‘die’ in the process ) .Finally , proceed to the federal level and add in any steps that would be required after the assumed passage of the bill.

The American Government and Constitution on Equal Rights

1) pick two chapters from the text book (look ahead if you like) IN ADDITION to chapters 1 – 3, which *everyone must use*,

2) pick two issues from the text (e.g.: founding philosophical principles, Federalism, civil rights, participation, etc., and

3) a contemporary issue that interests you, say Equal Rights, Welfare and Education, or Economic or Environmental policy (look ahead to future chapters that interest you), then

4) take a few relevant passages from the other readings (Federalist & Anti-Federalist Papers, Tocqueville, and Paine), and then conceive of a question that accounts in some way for them all. Once you have a thesis question it is easy to proceed.
