Practical-Tablet Making

Project description

The file ‘Practical-Method carried out in practical’ is the EXACT method that we CARRIED OUT ON THE DAY OF THE PRACTICAL so again, you will need to understand what was carried out in the practical, as well as use this with the methodologies provided by the module team in your Discussion and conclusion to answer ‘…plus including any difference performed during practical from the methodology provided by the module team’.
REMEMBER: The discussion and conclusion section counts for MOST of the marks so you MUST discuss and conclude the things like the practical results, mistakes etc. and EVERYTHING that is RELEVENT AND NECESSARY to include in this section and NOT ONLY the differences in the methods.
I am just making this clear to you as you might think that the only information that you need to include in this section, is the differences in methods because this is the only thing that it says in the write-up guide. But no!!! You MUST INCLUDE EVERYTHING THAT IS NECESSARY AND RELEVENT!

I have uploaded the following files:

1. ‘Materials-experiment 1’
2. ‘Materials-experiment 2’
3. ‘Materials-experiment 3’

Please read these files as they give you a general guide of the materials and the amounts. I have uploaded these files to you as it was uploaded on the university website along with the other files related to this practical. I do not know if it will be useful to you but please make this decision yourself!

I have uploaded the following files:

1. ‘Practical-experiment 1 expected results’
2. ‘Practical-experiment 2 expected results’
3. ‘Practical-experiment 3 expected results’

These files were uploaded to us before we attempted the practical so that we know what results to expect. I uploaded it to you in any case it might help you.

The file ‘Practical-summary’ gives you a brief outline as to what the practical was about and what was expected from our results.

I have uploaded the following files:

1. ‘Practical Results-calibrationdataforparacetamol’
2. ‘Practical-standard results’
3. ‘Practical-first results’
4. ‘Practical-second results’

These are ALL the HPLC results that I have obtained from this practical.
I have also uploaded the file ‘Practical-TableofResults’. These are ALL the results that I have obtained from the tablet analysis.
In this file, I have written some information in RED. This is just there to make things CLEARER TO YOU.

The file ‘Practical-what to include in Results’ gives you step-by-step guidelines as to what you MUST include in the results section of the write-up. Remember: ALL RESULTS THAT WERE OBTAINED FROM THIS PRACTICAL, MUST BE INCLUDED IN THIS SECTION OF THE WRITE-UP, NOT ONLY THE POINTS THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THIS FILE!

PLEASE REMEMBER: When completing the results section, please DO NOT just copy and paste the results from the files that I have uploaded to you (this applies to all the results tables for tablet analysis and also plotted graphs. Obviously, the chromatograms have to be copied and pasted). Please can you present the results tables for tablet analysis in a professional way where they are CLEARLY illustrated and explained so that it is easily understood. In the Practical portfolio guide, it gives you an outline as to what the results section should look like i.e. clearly presented.

SO REMEMBER: present ALL the RESULTS TABLES for tablet analysis, in a MUCH MORE PROFESSIONAL FORMAT then the one that I have uploaded to you, such as a way that it is easily explained, clearer and more scientific so that it can be presented in a professional way.

PLEASE NOTE, in the Results section of the write-up:

For ALL tables, make sure that you write e.g. Table 1: …….(state what the table shows).
Make sure that the titles for all tables are written above the table.

For ALL chromatograms and plotted graph(s), make sure that you write e.g. Figure 2:…..(state what the graph illustrates).
Make sure that the titles for all graphs are written below the graph.

PLEASE REMEMBER: For EACH results table, chromatogram AND plotted graph(s) that you will add in the Results section:

MAKE SURE that before you add each table, chromatogram AND plotted graph(s), you INTRODUCE it BEFOREHAND by giving a BRIEF OUTLINE as to what was carried out to produce the result, and then add the table of results/chromatogram/graph that you are referring to, and finally, give a BRIEF DESCRIPTION of what the result/chromatogram/graph shows. DO NOT write too much information on what was carried out and what the results show, as the results should be explained in the discussion and conclusion. So, just briefly state what was done to achieve each result and why, and then after presenting the result, you then briefly state what each results shows (you decide what is best-maybe 3 or 4 lines for each part!).

Now REMEMBER, in terms of the tablet analysis table of results, DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE RESULTS TABLES that I have uploaded to you. Make a new table for each one and present it in a professional way by explaining it clearly so that it is easily understood.
I know that it may be difficult to make a new table for EACH of the table of results that I have uploaded to you but please do your best to present it differently if u can!

To make things clearer to you:

USING THE SAME RULES ABOVE, you will also need to present EACH chromatogram, again by briefly introducing it first i.e. what was done, why it was done etc. (all mentioned above), then pasting the chromatogram (please include table of values that are shown below it). After this, explain in a sentence or two, what it shows.

USING THE SAME RULES ABOVE, you will also need to present EACH of the plotted graph(s), again by briefly introducing it first, i.e. what was done, why it was done etc. (all mentioned above). Then, please plot the graph on a graph paper and scan the image and then paste it in the necessary section of the write-up so that I can see it. Finally, explain in a sentence or two, what the graph shows.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET to add a title to ALL results tables, chromatograms and graphs (ALL is explained above).

As for the write-up itself, YOU MAKE THE DECISION AS TO WHAT IS BEST to get FULL MARKS FOR ALL SECTIONS!

I have uploaded the file called ‘Practical-friabilityinstrument’. I hope that this is useful to you when doing the practical write-up. It was up
