As you read, consider author’s rhetorical situation:

who specifically is she addressing and to what end? 

What in the article helped you draw your conclusions?

In what ways does the author show that she understands (or doesn’t understand) the principle of kairos?

Is the issue timely and compelling?

 Read “Are We Facebook Friends Yet?” by Micah McArthur in Perspectives on New Media (171–73). As you read, consider McArthur’s rhetorical situation: who specifically is he addressing and to what end? What in the article helped you draw your conclusions? In what ways does the author show that he understands (or doesn’t understand) the principle of kairos? Is the issue timely and compelling?  Write a paragraph (6–8 sentences) in which you respond to these questions, citing specific examples from the text.
