Secondary Source Reports

Submit 3 Secondary Source Reports

Your research assignment requires the use of 6 secondary sources, 4 of which must be literary criticism.

Prepare a typed source report for three of the critical sources that you plan to use in writing your research paper. (Note: This means you will be submitting a separate 1-page report for each source.) Submitting a source report does not necessarily mean you are committed to using this source in your paper, but that it is a source you have evaluated and are considering for use. Sources may include books, articles from the databases, or properly evaluated websites.

Each Secondary Source Report includes three sections:

          1.       A properly formatted (MLA) citation of the source.

          2.       A summary of the contents of the source (a brief paragraph stating the main points made in the source).

          3.       A brief statement on why/how you plan to use the source in your essay (for example, if the work provides an interesting insight into a symbol, you may state that you want to use the example found in the source to add weight to your discussion of symbols and theme).

1.

You may type up the reports for all three sources in one document and attach it below, or you may submit them as three separate attachments below. (If you submit your source reports as one document, each source must be on a separate page).

Reports for each source should be 250-300 words long (not including the properly formatted citation).
